Dialed Privacy Policy
Last Updated May 12, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Dialed ("Dialed," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information and consumer health data when you use the Dialed iOS application and related backend services.
This Policy applies to athletes and to people who are authorized to create or manage athlete profiles. If you submit information about another person, you represent that you have permission to provide that information and to authorize the disclosures described in this Policy.
2. Categories of Information We Collect
-
Account information: email address, sign-in credentials processed through Firebase Authentication, Firebase user identifier, and account timestamps.
-
Athlete profile information: name, age or birth month/year, sex, height, weight, primary sport, training frequency, typical session duration, competition level, goals, guidance preferences, allergies, avoided foods, guardian-consent indicator for young athletes, optional profile photo, and optional StatSports linkage details.
-
Workout and performance information: workout date/time, workout type, sport, venue, intensity, duration, weather summary, session focus, effort rating, distance, sprint count, heart-rate metrics, calorie estimates, scheduled activities, derived scores, hydration/fueling/recovery plans, and related performance telemetry.
-
Nutrition and hydration information: meal descriptions, meal-entry text, supplements, custom foods, macro estimates, calorie estimates, hydration amounts, food-search terms, and barcode values.
-
Mental performance and preparation information: pre-session goals, preparation actions, play plans, post-session ratings, reflection notes, preparation self-assessments, and AI-coaching conversation content you choose to submit.
-
Connected-service and health information: Apple Health data categories you authorize, including workouts, calories burned, calories consumed, water intake, sleep, recovery metrics, height, weight, and date-of-birth components where permitted by Apple Health; Apple Watch summary-sync data; and StatSports player/session information if you link that integration.
-
Photos and files: profile and workout photos you choose to capture or upload. In the current app build, those image files are stored locally on your device.
-
Technical and operational information: timestamps, service diagnostics, error logs, and standard device/service metadata needed to authenticate, sync, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
3. Sources of Information
-
Directly from you when you create an account, complete onboarding, log workouts, log food, enter hydration or mental-performance information, upload photos, or use AI features.
-
From your device when you use local storage, camera, photo library, or the Apple Watch companion connection.
-
From Apple Health if you choose to grant HealthKit permissions.
-
From StatSports if you choose to link that service.
-
From FatSecret when you use food search, food-detail lookup, or barcode search features.
-
From our service providers and backend systems when they authenticate your account, store synchronized data, or process requests you initiate.
4. How We Use Information
-
Create and manage your account and athlete profiles.
-
Store, sync, and display your performance, nutrition, hydration, and mental-performance records across the service.
-
Generate athlete insights, scores, plans, and summaries.
-
Provide AI-powered coaching, parsing, and nutrition-estimation features when you choose to use them.
-
Support Apple Health, Apple Watch, and StatSports integrations that you enable.
-
Save and display locally stored profile and workout photos.
-
Maintain service security, prevent misuse, debug problems, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
5. When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information or consumer health data. We may disclose information in the following situations:
-
Google/Firebase: to authenticate users, store synchronized account and athlete data, and run backend functions.
-
OpenAI: when you use AI features that generate coaching, structured parsing, or web-assisted nutrition results.
-
FatSecret: when you use food search, food-detail lookup, or barcode lookup features.
-
Apple: when you connect Apple Health or use the Apple Watch companion flow.
-
StatSports: when you link that service and import player/session information.
-
Professional advisors, law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties where disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or respond to legal process.
-
A buyer, investor, or successor if a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer occurs, subject to ordinary confidentiality and legal constraints.
6. AI Features and Nutrition Lookup
If you use Dialed AI or web-assisted nutrition features, we process the prompts and supporting context needed to return the feature you requested. Depending on the feature, that context may include athlete profile information, workout or nutrition log content, allergies, avoided foods, preparation notes, mental-performance reflections, food-search terms, restaurant/menu descriptions, and barcode values.
AI and nutrition-lookup processing is performed through Dialed backend services and third-party providers described in this Policy. Review generated results before relying on them, especially for health, training, or dietary decisions.
7. Health and Activity Integrations
Apple Health. If you authorize Apple Health access, Dialed may read and sync workouts, calories burned, calories consumed, hydration, sleep, recovery metrics, height, weight, and limited date-of-birth components where permitted by HealthKit. If you use profile-sync features, Dialed may also write height and weight back to Apple Health. Removing data from Dialed does not automatically remove data from Apple Health; manage that separately in Apple Health.
StatSports. If you link StatSports, Dialed may import player identifiers and detailed session telemetry from that service. Removing imported data from Dialed does not remove records retained by StatSports under its own policies.
8. Sale, Targeted Advertising, and Do Not Track
Dialed does not sell personal information or consumer health data and does not use cross-context behavioral advertising in the current app build.
Because Dialed is a native mobile app, browser-based Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals may not operate inside the app experience itself. If you run a separate public website with cookies, analytics tags, or ad technology, that site may require additional web-specific disclosures and controls.
9. Data Retention
We retain cloud-synchronized information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security records, or comply with legal obligations.
Device-stored information remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or use available in-app deletion tools. Certain device-stored files may remain in backups depending on Apple backup settings and the file type involved.
In the current app codebase, workout-photo files and profile-photo files are stored locally on the device rather than uploaded as image files into active Firestore records. When you use the in-app Delete Account flow, the current code deletes the Firestore user/profile tree and associated local account files under the app's account-storage path. Third-party systems like Apple Health and StatSports retain their own copies under their own policies.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and consumer health data. No system can guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects information in a way that triggers legal notice obligations, we will provide notices as required by applicable law.
11. Your Choices and Rights
-
You can review and update athlete profile information in the app.
-
You can delete individual sessions, food entries, custom foods, and other records using in-app controls where available.
-
You can disconnect Apple Health or revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS settings and unlink StatSports in the app.
-
You can delete your account using the in-app account-deletion flow in Settings. Deleting your account does not automatically delete data retained by Apple Health or StatSports.
-
Depending on your state and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about categories of data collected, used, or disclosed, and to appeal a denied request where required.
You may exercise rights by using in-app controls or the contact methods listed in Section 14 once those contact details are completed.
12. Children's Privacy
Dialed is intended for athletes and for adults who are authorized to manage athlete profiles. We do not knowingly permit a child under 13 to use Dialed without parent or guardian authorization. If we learn that information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will investigate and delete it as appropriate.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and provide any additional notice required by law for material changes.
